To get to Rabat I had to take the early bus… So I got to the bus station that functions more like the market place at around 7 am. I decided that the one that was selling me the thicket had to come with me to the bus and that I’d pay after – it turned out as a good idea ‘cause there were lots of buses and screaming all over the place (even more than inside if that’s even possible). There were few that seemed prepared to say their bus goes to Rabat just to fill it…
After a couple of hours the bus stopped on the highway quite away from the town I saw in the distance. That was the bus stop of that town. (How nice…) I just hoped it will not be the same with Rabat! After an hour or so it happened again. (Even better…) I made a perfect plan. If they’d say I have to get off, I’d just say “No, no, no!” and continue the trip till the first bus station that would be actually inside the town. So the problem was solved!
Although in the end I didn’t even get the chance to try my perfect plan… We got to Rabat. Beautiful! The old so close to the new, traditional and modern holding their hands – so different from everything I’ve ever seen.
Not that there are no similarities but the architectural differences, language, people, habits, constant call to the prayer and picks of the minarets clearly show you that you are in a different place, for me more mysterious for locals just normal but for everyone amazing!
Just walking around, looking at this, listening to the sounds, smelling the menthe tea, the bread and their food in general is an experience of it’s own!
