Morocco - Sale

It’s located just 3 kilometers from Rabat and you get there simply by crossing the bridge. It’s the only ancient pirate state – and yes, pirates really managed to organize themselves into the state – but they can’t organize themselves now to make it touristicly attractive – meaning that if you want to see the pirates you need to use lots of your imagination – luckily I have to much of it anyway (Johnny Depp helped a bit I have to admit… hehehe).

So this is how it looked like in my head…

I was walking along really narrow ally in the middle of the night. I could here the music and see the light coming from the too crowded bars everywhere I looked. It didn’t smell so well. Suddenly right in front of me the doors opened, a bunch of hairy and bearded guys with at least one injury from their past (eye, face, leg, hand…) rushed out screaming at each other probably about whose parrot was more beautiful. They started shooting! I just stepped behind the near barrel (probably full of rum). Just when there was about to happen something really interesting (probably something including monkeys, a cute guy and of course me) Nabil said: “They drank tea not rum… Those were not European pirates.” Welcome to the reality girl… hehehe

In reality the streets of Medina were full of everything. And people were buying clothes, chickens, meat in general, fishes, fruits, herbs, bags, belts, bread, toilets…

The scene was a bit shocking at firs I have to admit – those are not pictures you can see in Europe… But I recovered quickly and ate a traditional soup called “bisara” with bread that I bought there between all this and it was really good!
